What GitLab does
GitLab combines Git hosting with built-in CI/CD pipelines, container registry, and project management in one platform. Organizations self-host the Community Edition to run their full software delivery pipeline without depending on GitHub or a separate CI service. Because CI/CD is built in rather than bolted on, pipelines are defined right alongside the code they build.
