What Home Assistant does
Home Assistant connects and automates smart home devices from thousands of brands and protocols into one local dashboard and automation engine, prioritizing local control over cloud dependency. Hobbyists and smart home enthusiasts use it as the central hub tying together otherwise incompatible devices. Its automation engine can trigger actions based on time, sensor state, or location, without any of that logic living in a vendor's cloud.
