What LangChain does

LangChain is a Python and JavaScript framework for chaining LLM calls together with tools, memory, and external data sources to build chatbots, agents, and retrieval-augmented applications. It's one of the most widely used building blocks in the LLM application ecosystem. It standardizes how prompts, memory, and external tools plug together, so swapping the underlying model provider rarely requires rewriting app logic.
