What Qdrant does

Qdrant is a vector database built in Rust for fast similarity search over embeddings, with filtering, payload storage, and clustering for scale. It's used as the retrieval backend for semantic search, recommendation, and RAG systems that need low query latency. It exposes both a gRPC and REST API and supports on-disk storage, so large collections don't need to fit entirely in RAM.
