What Keycloak does
Keycloak handles authentication, single sign-on, and identity federation for applications, supporting standards like OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and SAML. Organizations run it to centralize login for internal and customer-facing applications instead of building auth into each app separately. Its extension system supports custom authentication flows and identity providers beyond what ships in the box by default.
