What WireGuard does
WireGuard is a VPN protocol and implementation focused on simplicity and speed, using modern cryptography to create secure point-to-point tunnels. It's widely used to connect remote servers, offices, or personal devices securely with far less configuration overhead than older VPN protocols. Its small, auditable codebase is one reason it has been merged directly into the mainline Linux kernel.
