What Vaultwarden does
Vaultwarden is a from-scratch Rust implementation of the Bitwarden server API, compatible with official Bitwarden client apps and browser extensions but far lighter to run than the official server. It's popular for personal or small-team self-hosted password management. Because it speaks the same API as official Bitwarden, no client-side changes are needed to switch between the two servers.
