What Supabase does

Supabase bundles a PostgreSQL database with auto-generated APIs, authentication, storage, and realtime subscriptions into one backend platform. Developers self-host it to get Firebase-style productivity while keeping data in a standard, portable PostgreSQL database. Row-level security policies in Postgres control who can read or write which rows directly from client applications.
